Welcome to our Community Radio in the Highlands

Since Speysound Radio started broadcasting in 1993, initially as Ski FM, we have shared air time with MFR based in Inverness. However, We have now been granted our very own Community Radio Licence by OFCOM, and now broadcast on 107.1FM as well as live on the internet.

Because our transmitter is situated at the top of the funicular railway on Cairngorm Mountain, 1097 metres above sea level and 14 km away from our Studio in Aviemore, we cover the whole of Badenoch and Strathspey in the Scottish Highlands. You can either listen to us by tuning your radio sets to 107.1FM or, if you would like to listen via your computer, click on “Listen Live!”.

The full Speysound Radio schedule is available here.

Would you like to join Speysound Radio?

We have programmes covering a range of tastes – mostly music, some covering community events and local celebrities. But we always welcome fresh ideas and suggestions. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and we need presenters, technical people, marketing advisers, general supporters to name but a few. Interested?
