When is the best time to go skiing?
The weather in Aviemore and the Cairngorms area changes dramatically and we often have four seasons in one day. We have had a very good season 2007/2008 for skiing but it is best to check snow conditions before you leave for your visit. I am looking for a log cabin with a hot tub outside?
There are a few self catering providers in the area who have log cabins. Try Pinebank Chalets or Great North Lodges . Great North Lodges have some with hot tubs.
How long does it take to drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Aviemore and the Cairngorms area?
The journey time to the middle of the area which is Aviemore is about two and a half hours. It is slightly quicker to Dalwhinnie and about 25 mins longer to Grantown on Spey and Cromdale. During winter check road conditions for heavy snow and during peak periods be aware of heavy traffic. See 'Transport' under 'In the Area' for journey guide times.

Where is a good place to stay for families?
Hilton Coylumbridge Hotel is great for families as there is a leisure complex, daily entertainment, sports facilities and the Fun House. There are also self catering lodges available within the grounds.
