Transport Aviemore and Cairngorms area

The Aviemore and the Cairngorm area is easy to reach by road, rail, plane or bike. We have a train link to Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh and have a direct service from London and the south to Aviemore. Listed below are a few helpful contacts for transport arrangements, timetable and directions. The Heather Hopper bus service in the Cairngorms National Park

The Heather Hopper service has unfortunately been cancelled due to lack of use and will not be in operation for the season 2010.

Air

Inverness is the central airport for the Highlands and is only 1hr 30mins away from London.
British Airways run daily services from London Gatwick.
EasyJet from Bristol, Gatwick and London Luton.

Flybe from Belfast, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Kirkwall, Manchester, Southampton, Stornoway & Sumburgh
You can also fly into Inverness from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and Birmingham. Have a look at Inverness airport

Train

Why not use our very own Strathspey Steam Railway between Aviemore, Boat of Garten and Broomhill at Nethy Bridge?  Timetable details here 

Trains starting from London's Kings Cross stop off at either Kingussie or Aviemore.
Travel with Scotrail.

Bus

Buses from London Victoria, and all over the country make the journey up through Scotland to Aviemore and the Cairngorms.
