Rocks and Landforms of the Cairngorms

Kincraig Village Hall 9am-16.45pm This one day training course aims to enthuse and inform participants about geodiversity in the Cairngorms, with plenty of opportunity to get outside and see the real thing at first hand. Geodiversity is the variety of rocks, minerals, fossils, landforms, sediments and soils, together with the natural processes which form and alter them. The course assumes no prior knowledge of geodiversity. It will include an illustrated introduction to the geodiversity of the Cairngorms, and field trips to local sites which will give first hand experience of geodiversity. Geodiversity conservation will also be covered and there will be ample opportunity to have your geodiversity questions answered.
