The village is brilliantly located for getting out on your bike in Aviemore. There are all levels of trails for mountain bikers who want to explore the Cairngorms National Park and families who want to keep off the roads.

For road bikers there are some great circuits with some good climbs to push your limits on. There is now an annual Cairngorms Bike Festival held at Glenmore Lodge outside Aviemore.

The National Cycle Network Sustrans passes through the Aviemore area and on to wider Scotland. From your bike in Aviemore you can cycle along the Speyside Way towards Boat of Garten. You can also take the ‘Old Logging Way all the way from Aviemore up to Glenmore which is a purpose built off-road trail for walkers and mountain bikers. This trail is a bit of a gradual climb up to Glenmore but great fun on the way back down and a reward for the effort on the way up! If you enjoy brutal off road hill climbs try the Burma Road from Aviemore over to Carrbridge. Aviemore has two specialist Shops – Bothy Bikes (a rider and family owned mountain bike shop) at the North end of Aviemore in the Dalfaber Neighbourhood and Mikes Bikes (a family friendly independent shop) in two locations behind Myrtlefield Shopping Centre and at the tennis courts beside Rothiemurchus. You can hire from these and many other shops in Aviemore listed below. If you have young children trailer bikes, seats and helmets are also available for hire.

Nearby Aviemore is Wolftrax in Strathmashie Forest at Laggan with 35km of all year round trails for mountain bikers. Just opened in the opposite direction is the Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trails Centre

These accommodation providers have been awarded the Visit Scotland Cyclists Welcome Scheme which means they cater well for your needs on holiday with your bike.
