Aviemore Shopping is great for not so fine weather days where you can browse till your hearts content. Aviemore has a great selection of shops to suit all your needs.
There are some really good outdoor clothing and gear shops from high street retailers to independent stores all offering specialist knowledge and advice on many outdoor activities. If you are self catering you can buy fresh, locally produced food in the local Butcher, Tesco, Costcutter and Spar shops. Aviemore also has some lovely unique gifts shops, galleries, clothes shops and a Waterstones book shop.
You can shop at specialist independent retailers such as Mountain Spirit, Cairngorm Mountain Sports, Active Outdoor Pursuit and Rothiemurchus Gift and Farm Shop or find big brands such as Blacks, Nevisport, Ellis Brigham, Trespass, Mountain Warehouse and Macdonald Spey Valley Shopping. There is a Boots Chemist and Semi Chem shop, Fat Face clothing, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, a traditional sweetie shop, Walkers Shortbread, Ashers Bakery, Country Crafts gift shop, a post office, two banks, newspaper shop, bookies, electrical shop, hardware shop and two bike shops.
The Cairngorms Farmers Market holds regular markets throughout the area with one in Aviemore most months. The Farmers Market has seasonal farm produce, ice cream, local Cairngorm ales and crafts for sale. There are sometimes cookery demonstrations, tastings and recipe ideas.
