Are you ready if someone near you has a sudden cardiac arrest?

Every year 60,000 people experience sudden cardiac arrest in the UK, that’s 160 every day! The success of resuscitation depends on starting CPR as soon as possible and calling the emergency services – Dial 999. The emergency services may be some time in the National Park due to the large distances involved. This could delay life-saving defibrillation.

Deploying a defibrillator within a few minutes can greatly increase the chances of successful resuscitation. Each minute of delay in using a defibrillator reduces the chances of success by 10%.

Do you know where the nearest defibrillator is now?

We at Rotary Spey Valley have created a Google map and what3words map of the known public access defibrillators within Badenoch & Strathspey, and their availability and a picture of their location. It is simple to download this map to your mobile phone. Do it now – you may save a life!
