How to get to Aviemore
Aviemore is easy to get to by road, rail, plane or bike. We have a train link to Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh and have a direct service from London and the south to Aviemore and Aberdeen. Sleeper train services from London stop at Aviemore and a new sleeper bus service with Megabus links the village with London.
Aviemore is just off the A9 main trunk road from the South to Inverness and beyond. It is ideally located for exploring the Cairngorms National Park. The Cairngorms National Park is situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and is easily accessible with rail and road links. Travelling by Bus
Citylink and Megabus stop at Aviemore from Inverness travelling South and from Edinburgh and Glasgow travelling North. Stagecoach operate the local bus services around the Aviemore and Cairngorms area
Travelling by Bike
National Cycle Route 7 runs from Glasgow to Inverness passing through Aviemore. Cycle route 7 is a combination of on and off-road sections and links up the communities of the Aviemore and the Cairngorms area.
Travelling by Air
Inverness airport is the nearest to Aviemore and services from Amsterdam, London (Gatwick and Luton), Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Belfast, Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Stornoway and Benbecula are available. New winter routes starting 2013/2014 fly to Geneva and Zurich.
